The Latest News from Bansko

01/12/07 - Bansko resort opens early

The favorable weather conditions and the sufficient snow
coverage made it possible for the Bansko winter resort to give
satisfaction to the more eager winter sport enthusiasts and open
up for action on the 1st of December – a whole 2 weeks ahead of
schedule.

Two more exiting tracks, the Chalin Valog 1 and 2, located in a
convenient proximity just above the town of Bansko, will tempt
the skiers and snowboarders in the new season. The medium-long
red tracks are operated by a Doppelmayer high-capacity 4-seater
lift. A brand new tow-dragger in the lower section will suit the
Beginners best. Wit this brand new addition, the total length of
the Bansko pistes reaches up to 70 kilometers.

On the 15th of December then, to celebrate the new season in
style, a great star trio will appear on the Bansko slopes. The
Olympic and World Champions and FIS World Cup Holders Janica
Kostelic, Kjetil Andre Aamodt and Marc Girardelli, the latter a
notorious fan of Bansko winter resort, will officially cut the
ribbon of the New season.

21/11/07 - Powder in Bansko

Mother nature gave her blessing for just another exciting winter
season in Bansko. The pistes in the resort find themselves under
more than 1 meter of fresh powder now. To please the very zealous
winter sports enthusiasts, the Bansko resort opens for action on the
1st of December, 2 weeks before the official season opening.

At the opening event on the 15th of December, a star trio of the
Olympic and World champions and World cup winners Janica Kostelic,
Kjetil Andre Aamodt and Mark Girardelli will cut the ribbon of the
upcoming 2007/2008 season.
